Extension to the Salmon Season on the Blackwater
The extension of the salmon angling season to to October 12th., 2012
has now been confirmed. It will be fly only with single barbless hooks - C&R.

The First Springer of the 2012 Season

The honour of catching the
first springer on the Lodge beats
fell this year to
proprietor Ian Powell
who caught this very fresh 6.2 pounder
at the Jole on Lower Kilmurry
at 13.40 on February 3rd.

The fish didn't have sea-lice so had
been in the river a couple of days.
This could mean that there is a good
head of springers in the river already.

It could well be the first springer to be caught on the river this season.

The river is coming into cracking order.
The Gauge Height was 0.78m
on the evening of the 3rd.

for a hugely enjoyable day yesterday.
Everything about it was run so professionally
and to such a high standard that
I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
And, Glenda, my thanks to you for
decoding what seemed to me to be a
complicated and mystical process
into something that I have
understanding and confidence in.
I can't wait now to get back out
onto the river to start catching fish!"
