Blackwater Lodge Salmon Fishery Syndicate 2011

To help salmon anglers to continue to enjoy their sport during these recessionary times,
the Lodge is offering very attractive syndicate rods on the entire fishery for the 2011 season.

The Lodge fishery has numerous beats extending from 2 miles below Ballyduff to just a mile below Mallow.
This vast extent of fishing offers the possibility to be fishing on the best sections of the river regardless of the time of year or river conditions.
Whether the fish are holding in the lower reaches in low cold spring conditions or in autumn, or whether they are moving
to the middle and upper reaches in higher warmer water in spring or summer grilse time – fish can be covered.

Syndication Rules:

There will be a maximum of 40 full season members and 20 Spring (February-May) members.
Acceptance will be on a first-come first-served basis (priority for existing members) and at discretion of the management.

Membership Fees (Payment is due on joining):

    Full Season:      €1,500
Spring Season:      €   500  (for the 4 months from February to May).

Members agree to abide by the statutory state regulations in terms of methods and bag limits, together with any ancillary rules
laid down by the Lodge (such as no worming allowed at the beginning of the season until all kelts are safely out of the river).

We expect all members to practice conservation and release all coloured or unseasonal fish using good catch & release procedures.
Abuse of the rules will be notified to members in writing.
Thereafter, membership may be revoked with any refund of fee entirely at the discretion of the management.

Fishing

Fishing days will be available on an unlimited basis subject to availability.
Members are encouraged to use this to the full - especially in the early season – to improve catch returns
and help the SRFB & CFB to better judge the stocks of fish in the river.

It is vitally important that all fish caught and released are recorded on members (& indeed all anglers)
log cards as fish caught & released are a major factor used by the Boards to determine stocks of fish in the river.
Members are required to contact the Lodge promptly when they finish fishing each day, to let us know that
the slot is then available, and to make a catch & river condition report to facilitate good fishery management.

Fishing Booking.

Fishing can be booked not more than 2 weeks in advance to ensure fishing availability.

Beat Allocation

Members will be provided with a set of beat maps at the beginning of the season.
For full paying Lodge guests, the norm is a maximum of 4 rods per beat (all methods) & 2 rods per beat (fly only).
Syndicate fishing will be on the same basis except in times of high demand (such as September).
At such times, the norm may be exceeded to help facilitate syndicate demand.
An appropriate number of syndicate beats will be also reserved at such times to ensure availability.
This/these will be rotated on a daily basis in the same manner as the rotation for Lodge guests
– a different beat each day & one day up-river followed by one day down, next day up etc.
Our aim is to provide the best possible fishing in the given conditions on the day.

Guest Days.

Subject to availability, members may avail of 1 FREE GUEST DAY per month for the first 6 months of the season.
In the last 2 months of the season, 1 FREE GUEST DAY per month may be applied for but will be subject to availability
and entirely at the discretion of the management.
