Above:  Cedric Jouan (France) caught his First Ever Salmon
    on Thursday, August 21 on Ballinaroone on the lower river.
Right:      Cedric's brother Erwan also caught his First Ever
    on Saturday, August 23 on Kents on the lower river.

They came on a birthday trip for Cedric & neither of them had ever fished
for salmon before. Cedric caught his on his very first day salmon fishing!

 Highlights
 
 Feb. 19:  The first day the river was fishable & 2 springers landed!  Both on spinner
                - one from Lower Kilmurry & the other from Ballyhooly (15 miles upriver).
March 15: 
The First on the Fly!  Taken by Conor Arnold on the upper river on a Monkey.
March 29:  Best of Season on Fly so far!  12lb. caught by 12 year old James Byrne.
April 14: 
BEST DAY of SEASON!  4 fish to 14lb. - three on fly!
May 24:  JOINT BEST DAY of SEASON. 4 fish to 10lb. from the upper river.

June 4: 
Second Best Fish of Season! Donie Curtin - 14.6lb fish on spinner - upper river.
June 6: 
Monster Lost! Donie Curtin - 11lb. on spinner. on the same upper beat.
              He lost a fish of about 30lb. as well after playing it for quite a long time!
June 8: One fish of 12.3lb. on spinner on lower river by Damien Maher - his Second Ever!
June 10:  Gerard Bonnet (France) 12.6lb on worms on the upper river.
June 11:  Gerard Bonnet (France) 11.2lb on spinner on the upper river.
June 12:  JOINT BEST DAY of SEASON. 4 fish to 11.8lb. from the upper river.
                BEST CATCH FOR ONE ROD 2014. 3 fish to 10.4lb for Gerard Bonnet (France).
June 13:  3 fish to 10lb. caught on the upper river.

               One of ~20lb. lost on fly whilst being beached.

June 14:  3 fish to 13lb. - all on fly on the upper river. 12 year old James Byrne did it again!
               He took the sea-liced 13 pounder on one of his own flies on Ballyhooly.
June 20:  JOINT BEST DAY of SEASON. 4 fish to 9lb. Fish ~20lb. lost!
                BEST CATCH FOR ONE ROD 2014 - 3 to one rod on the upper river.
June 28:  NEW BEST DAY OF SEASON. Six fish between 8 & 11lb. caught for just 8 rod days.
July 20:  BEST CATCH FOR ONE ROD 2014 - Conor Arnold caught 4 fish to 13lb. - all after 7pm.
        on spinner on the upper river - 2, 3, 9 & 13lb. One 5lb. sea-liced on spinner on lower river.
July 31:  JOINT BEST CATCH FOR ONE ROD 2014 - Daniel Desmoulin caught 4 fish to 5.9b.
              on the lower river.


August 7:  The first fish for a week!  Laurent Ailloud caught a 3lb. grilse on a #14 Bann Special.
                 He caught the fish on the Road Pool on Ballinaroone on the lower river.
August 8:  Daniel Desmoulin caught one grilse on spinner upriver.
August 9:  Daniel Desmoulin caught one grilse on spinner downriver.
August 10:  Laurent Ailloud caught two grilse on shrimp downriver.
August 11:  A sea-liced 5 pounder for Baroness Denise Kingsmill on fly on Lower Kilmurry.
August 15:  A very fresh grilse from the lower river for Pat Farrelly (Mallow).
August 16:  Joint Third Best Day (4 fish) &
                  Joint Second Best Bag (3 fish) - by me with 3 on shrimp on the lower river!!!!!!!!
August 17:  Edi Luethi caught one grilse on shrimp downriver.
August 18:  2 grilse from the lower river.
August 19:  An 8 pounder for Harry McCracken from the lower river.
August 20:  Two grilse released on fly by Didier Faye (France) on Lower Kilmurry
                  & one each for Mark Allsop & Geraldine Gaffney on worms on Kents & 2 lost.
August 21:  BEST DAY OF SEASON - Eight Fish caught
                  JOINT BEST CATCH for ONE ROD. Harry McCracken with four fish (2 released on fly)
                  on the upper river.
He said it was the best day’s salmon fishing he ever had in his life!
                  Three First Ever Salmon caught the same day – Cedric Jouan (France) who had
                  never fished for salmon before today, Gus McSweeney who had never ever even
                  fished before today plus one for Michael Houlihan (Dublin). 
August 22:  One grilse from the upper river.
August 23:  Another First Salmon for the Jouan party (France) - a grilse from the lower river.

August 24:  Laurent Ailloud (France) released two grilse from the lower river.
August 29:  A fresh 5 pounder for Graeme Alexander on fly from the lower river.
August 30:  A fresh 3 pounder released by Caoimhghin Phelan on spinner from the lower river
                  - reported by 10.15am. Two more grilse reported from upriver by 15.00.
August 31:  A fresh grilse for Andre Perros on fly from the lower river.
September 2:  A fresh grilse for Jean-Claude Depoisson (France) from the lower river.
September 5:  Four fish to 13lb. Two from the upper river for Paul Rosier (UK) & two very fresh fish from the lower river. All released except one that could not be revived
September 6:  Three fish to 8lb. All released alive.
September 7:  Five fish to 10lb. One from the upper river & four from the lower river,
                       including three for Rob Green (UK). All released alive.
September 8:  One fish from the lower river.
September 9:  Three fish including a First Ever for Yohan Nicolet (Switzerland) & one on fly
                        from the upper river.
September 10:  Just one fish but it was a First Ever for Ieuan Crocker (UK) from the upper river.
September 17:  Two fish off the lower river.
September 18:  One fish off the lower river on fly.
